30 Rock: Season 2
By Tina Fey
see relatedAnd done third year. That exam was pretty interesting but I'll be happy to just pass. Also handed in my last paper this year even though it's due tomorrow; I was finished it anyway so there was no point in keeping it. Felt good to hand it in. Now I just have to pack and clean up my dorm which I won't see until September. My parents will get here Friday morning and help me move back home. This summer should be fun. Florida and just being lazy. Ya!
I don't really like the new midnight blue away jersey for Arsenal. I actually liked the yellow one. At least their home jerseys will be the same. Oh ya, congrats to Man Utd for winning the EPL. We'll see if you can win the Champions League.
Alex Scott is my new favourite Defender. That girl can run and score like no one's business. She helped tie with Washington on Sunday so now Boston is just 3 points behind L.A. And FSC just announced they're going to broadcast the August 8th match between Boston and L.A!! My depression/anger has been answered. Can't wait to watch Smith and Marta fight for that Golden Boot. And of course if both teams will be fighting for the league title. So far I see them as the ones to beat since Chicago have been losing more and more points. Although the Bay Area are starting to look like a threat.
On the national front, I really wish I can watch next Monday's international friendly with Canada and USA in Toronto. I doubt anyone would want to come with me. I guess I'll settle watching it on FSC. I'll definitely try to attend the next Canada match if it's in Toronto though. As for the outcome of this match - it's pretty 50/50. Both Canadian Sinclair and American Wambach are looking for their 100th goal which I'm sure they'll be hungry for. The players from both countries who are in the WPS have definitely been improving and since the best are picked for the country I'm hoping it'll be an entertaining match. I don't know a lot about the new Canadian coach Carolina Morace and her record but I read she wants to focus on possession rather than the long passes Canada focused on with the previous coach. They have gone 6 games unbeaten this year so that's a good start. But USA is number one and honestly a lot better. We'll see what happens. I'll be rooting for the Big Reds no matter what though.

Why do I have over 300 friends on Facebook? It's not like I talk to each of them. Honestly, I probably have a close relationship with about 20 out of the 300 and just a casual relationship with about 30. I've deleted some people that I don't care about but I'm wondering if I should keep deleting. It's not like I pride myself in having over 300 "friends" so why shouldn't I just keep my actual friends as contacts ... Maybe ... Just to be kept updated ... With people I don't really talk to anymore ... That doesn't make sense. I don't really creep on everyone though. I don't even say Happy Birthday to each person. I don't know. It is nice to see how old high school friends are doing though. And, to be honest, if their lives suck or not. You know you laugh at people who are weird now. Don't lie! But seriously it's fun.
My new neice has finally arrived last Monday. Seeing her pictures is getting me excited to see her in person. I don't want to hold her though. I'm pretty scared to hold a brand new just out of the vajayjay baby. They're just too delicate. And apparently because I'm a woman I'm supposed to be motherly automatically but I'm not. I like kids though - well some. Eitherway, I can't wait to see her grow up and corrupt - I mean love her.
One more week! Two more papers, one blog and one exam to go until I get the hell out of violent York (there was a shooting on campus last night at the pub) and I can't wait. Summer should be interesting. My brother is making me do this diet thing with him so we can get ready for Florida this July. I'm pretty sure I'm going to die from the low-carb crap he's going to make me eat along with intense workouts BUT I'm hoping it'll be worth it. Yay to being healthy and (hopefully) fit!

The brother with Jasper
That little white circle up there is the moon not dirt. And the brother with Jasper.
The siblings all together!
Job searching for summer sucks. We'll see what happens. I want a new wide-angle lens which is the main reason why I want a job. Hmm, we'll see.
Have a good Happy Victoria Day weekend!

6 minutes. It took 6 minutes for our Pride to take down a cocky man from England. It was awesome. Did you see that left hook?!?!?!?! It was insane - especially seeing it in slow-mo. Hatton's brain must have hit his skull or something because he looked SO bad after. He's fine now which is good but I'm pretty sure he feels like crap. Will he retire? Apparently his trainer thinks he should. Whatever. Pacquiao sent De la Hoya to retirement so I won't be surprised if he does the same with Hatton. I also love the fact that Pacquiao is so humble about everything. He's so happy and vibrant walking into the ring compared to the serious faces of his opponents. It's going to bug me that other Filipinos will think they're tough because of Pacquiao (yes some dumbasses act like that) - you're not Manny Pacquiao. Stop being cocky. Be humble like him.
Boston is another team that kicked ass yesterday! Against L.A! First lost for L.A. It was 2-1 (goals from Smith and Lilly). It sucked it wasn't broadcasted!!! But match tracker was good this time around. Boston's defense must have been working hard to keep Marta from scoring. LeBlanc didn't get another shut-out but it was only a matter of time and I'm glad it came from Boston. Although I love both teams I have to admit that when they face each other I'm rooting for Boston because they all have quality players whereas L.A has the star of WPS (Marta) but I think they depend way too much on her. Yes Boston has Smith but other players have stepped up too (Lilly and Hucles so far). They have another match with each other next week but again it's not going to be broadcasted. Match tracker it is again. Hoping Boston wins again in L.A.
Washington and St. Louis play tonight on FSC as well as New York and the Bay Area. Not sure how these matches will go. St. Louis is looking for their first win, which Washington achieved last week against the Bay Area. Maybe they'll still be on their game. New York is also still looking for that first 3 points while the Bay Area are looking to return from losing at home. We'll see.

Washed my brother's car today. It was fun. Jasper got wet and he looked pissed. I've been driving his car all week since I've been home. I'm going to miss that but only 3 more weeks until summer for me! Going back to Toronto on Tuesday. Yay. 3 papers, 1 test and 1 exam until freedom. And ya classes too.

I like that picture. Not sure if Leblanc hit the ball away or it was a miss but doesn't matter since L.A and St. Louis drew yesterday. First time L.A didn't win but first point for St. Louis. Both teams had a chance to score with them getting a penalty each but they were saved. Pretty impressive. Marta wasn't playing with L.A which explains a lot. She's on national duty with Brazil. L.A knows that she really is a key factor in winning games. It's just unfortunate that they didn't have another player be the star for them this time. Leblanc got herself another shutout though. I believe that's number 4. She is killing it. She must be training really hard.Another team that killed it yesterday was Chicago with 4-0 against Boston. Oh Boston I know you'll come back from this. I was hoping they were going to pull a Manchester United by coming back in the second half (that match against the Spurs was so entertaining by the way). Their leading scorer Smith didn't play which I find weird because she was available even though she played for England against Norway 2 days before (Scott was fine to play). Both teams have strong attackers but maybe Boston wasn't comfortable playing away (they've lost two away games now). Chicago is now second on the table with only 2 points behind L.A.
Today it's the Bay Area against Washington. It'll be the second away game for Washington and I'm not sure how it'll go. They haven't won a game yet and I know they're hungry for one. They are last on the table. My question is: will Scurry be keeper?!?!?! Seriously, in 3 games she's let in 6 goals and I think it's time to change it up. Bring on the Canadian! I actually don't know if McLeod's Visa situation is fixed but I hope it is so maybe we can see some action from her. Bay Area is 4th on the table and they've won their one and only home game and maybe that'll continue today.
And I missed the Arsenal match today but I'm happy to have woken up to a great result. Captain Fabregas did an awesome job.
Anyways, the weather was weird yesterday. SO beautiful early on then when it hit around 5pm the dark clouds started coming and BAM thunderstorm. I'm glad I went grocery shopping earlier though. Today it's still raining and cloudy but tomorrow it'll be sunny and 27! Awesome weather for the bus ride home. I'll be in Ottawa for a week. It'll be nice to sleep in my own bed for at least a couple of days before summer officially starts for me.

Blue was the colour yesterday. Damnit. I thought Arsenal had it. Very disappointing. Fabianski's birthday was apparently yesterday too. Probably not a very happy one.
On to a happier outcome! Boston kicked Washington's ass yesterday in the WPS. Kelly Smith, Christine Latham (Canadian forward!!! Why isn't she on the national team?!?!) and Angela Hucles all scored for Boston. Smith, a former Arsenal Lady, is now the leading scorer with 3. She's scored in every game so far. Boston and L.A definitely have the best offensive players and they're currently tied for first in the table. We'll see if L.A can change that with their game against the Bay Area later on today. A game that FSC will actually broadcast today is the Chicago and NYC match. Can't wait for that. First time I get to see these teams play. But more about yesterday's match which wasn't live, I followed on the match tracker.
Okay, Washington signed Canadian goalkeeper Erin McLeod and I'm pretty excited about that. She's coming back from an acl injury that she got against the US during the Olympics. I believe she'll be a better keeper than Scurry. Both have experience but I think Scurry just lets the pressure get to her. The first goal was from a penalty kick (by Smith) that Scurry caused against a foul on Hucles. I'm not sure what she did exactly but I think she should have known better. Not totally picking on her because Washington's defenders need to pick it up as well. Another penalty kick that didn't go so well for Washington was from Abby Wambach. She hasn't scored a goal yet. I'm sure she's annoyed about it (along with her team not winning a game so far). Wambach is coming back from breaking her leg against Brazil right before the Olympics last year so she's still getting back into the game after not playing for about 12 weeks. Understandable. Big props to Boston's keeper Luckenbill for saving it though. I wish they had broadcasted this game. It seemed so exciting. Plus I love watching Smith. She's so intense. Same with Marta. I'm pissed FSC won't play any matches with Boston against L.A. That would be such a great game to watch.

Highway in Ottawa. Not sure which one. But I'm going back for a week on April 29th and I can't wait. Probably not going to do much. Just chill at home with the family. Enjoy the (hopefully) nice weather and maybe do some sprints on the soccer field and play a bit with my brother too.

Yay I'm 21. Nothing too special happened since it was Easter Sunday and everything was closed. Plus I had a lot of homework to do. My family came on Saturday to visit me though. We went to Medieval Times which was so funny but fun at the same time. I didn't know that there was a Toronto FC game going on right next to Medieval Times though. There was a lot of traffic. I didn't know what the outcome of the game was so my family and I were trying to tell from the faces of the fans who seemed calm but not too happy. I guessed they lost but it was a draw against DC United. Good, I guess. Better than losing.
I missed the EPL and WPS games over the weekend because my internet connection was being stupid. All good news though for Arsenal! Sol didn't play this weekend but they're still number one in the WPS. Athletica lost their second game in a row to the Breakers (courtesy of Kelly Smith and Kristine Lilly) and I'm pretty surprised since they have a good team. They have no points right now but I'm hoping that'll change for them. Sky Blue, Gold Pride, Red Stars and Freedom all got 1 point from their draws. It sucks they don't broadcast more games from WPS. And the tracker on the site is annoying because it doesn't keep up correctly. Hopefully they'll fix that.
About two more months of school left. I hope other uni kids are doing well with finals. I'm jealous their summer is starting soon. Although I do only have one final this term which is awesome. Just a bunch of papers to do and one presentation left this term. I can't waaaait.

From Christmas but Timmies is good anytime.

This was from our old family restaurant. No idea where it is now. Probably at my grandma's.

The first game in WPS between Los Angeles Sol and Washington Freedom was great. Exciting to see Marta play and show off her skills. Although I'm sure she wanted to score, she did have a few chances but she'll probably get her chance in future games. She did assist on the second goal for Abily. That was a nice goal but I can't say the same for the first one. I don't really think Falk headed it in. It looked like the Freedom Keeper had it in her hands but Falk just totally pushed her over to get that goal. But I'm sure Falk doesn't care how she made that goal but rather the fact that she's the first player to get a goal in WPS. Sol was all over the first half with their possession. Freedom's offense barely had the ball in the first half which I'm sure made Wambach crazy. She did have two great chances of getting a goal but LeBlanc (CANADIAN KEEPER YA!) had a great save on Wambach's first attempt and her second try was just off. Second half wasn't as exciting as the first (minus the second goal). Lots of standing around which I hope won't always happen in future games. I have to say it's nice to see Asian faces for Sol as well. Duan and Miyama are great players and I'm sure they'll play a great role for the team. Especially Miyama with her excellent accuracy on free kicks. And of course Marta. She's who people want to see and she'll help bring people to games. I'm not sure about the other teams though. There are big names on each of the squads but we'll see how it goes. This Saturday it's St. Louis (Solo and Tancredi [CANADIAN FORWARD YA!]) versus Chicago (Cristiane and Lloyd). And Sunday there's Bay Area (Sinclair [CANADIAN FORWARD YA!]) versus Boston (Smith and Chapman [CANADIAN DEFENDER/MIDFIELDER YA!]) as well as Los Angeles versus New York/New Jersey (Kai and Parker [CANADIAN MIDFIELDER YA!]). Should be good games.
I just found out that we'll be getting two .. TWO reading weeks next year. One in October and another in February. How awesome is that? I'm guessing it's the University being nice to us students for the stupid 3 month strike. They better not make the workload harder because of the two reading weeks though.

Random photos from downtown Ottawa. I have to say I'm missing home. About two more months of school left. Blah.

Is the "cali" style of Hollister and Abercrombie still a trend? I went to the Eaton Centre today and I saw Hollister, which by the way looks so secretive and closed in like a club or something. It's dark, has loud music and smells. Not a good smell. People that work there either each have a different type of perfume that merges all together to create a headache making smell or it's just me that doesn't enjoy it. And I didn't even go inside, I just walked past it. Anyway, do people still wear that type of clothing? Back in Ottawa last summer I remember it still being a bit popular but mostly for white people. Here though it's looking like it's mostly the nerdy hip-hop/punk look that's making a statement. I prefer that look but not the whole skinny jeans on guys thing. Even if some guys can make it work it just doesn't seem right. Don't their areas feel jailed in or something?? I don't even wear really tight jeans. I like to move around comfortably. Maybe the "cali" style clothing will come back during the summer though.
I also bought an Underarmour shirt for working out. It's one of those moisture absorbing shirts and it was only 20$ which is awesome. The rest of Underarmour stuff are so expensive but for good reason since the fabric is so nice and comfy. At least I have one thing from them unlike my brother who has a whole bunch of stuff.
Don't you hate it when people who work on a paper the night before it's due get A's when you finish it at least a week before and do worse? I do. But this time I got an A for actually working on it a good few days before it was due. I'm happy and surprised. Even though I worked on it early I wasn't really taking it seriously since it was the first assignment for the course. Not complaining though! I'll always be happy seeing that vowel.

My cousin BL last summer. I'm pretty sure he looks the same now even though I haven't seen him since January. Another trend with Asians and that peace sign. I try not to do that anymore. Not that I don't want peace or victory because I do. It's just getting annoying seeing that around A LOT. I don't even know why specifically Asians do that all the time.
My brother about ... 2-3 years ago?? He looks the same too even though he's turning 25 tomorrow. What an old man. I haven't gotten the chance to celebrate his birthday with him for the past 3 years because of school here in Toronto. At least I'll be seeing him and the rest of my family for my birthday in two weeks. 21! My goodness. Legal all over the world! What do I do? My wish is to go to Vegas or Atlantic City to go to the casino haha. Not going to happen though. I've never been to a club and turning 21 won't make me feel obliged to go even when people ask me to. Sorry if that makes me a party pooper. I'd just rather not see friends be disgusting because I'd still want to have respect for you the next day. My family and I are going to Medieval Times though when they come here. I can't wait for that. Should be interesting and fun. If you don't know Medieval Times watch "The Cable Guy" with Jim Carrey. That movie is the reason why I want to go there. Hopefully it'll be fun.
